In June 2001 on a tour of Central Europe we visited Berlin, Germany for the first time. In the photo above Betty is standing by a preserved portion of the "Berlin Wall" that separated East and West Berlin up to November 1989. Now nearly 12 years later the "two" Berlins are completely "one city" with only reminders of the past separation like the small preserved portions of the Wall and the preserved part of "Checkpoint Charlie" where Craig is standing in the photo below.
