The photo above is the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II. It was begun in 1885 by Giuseppe Sacconi in honor of the first king of a united Italy. In the photo below is the popular Piazza di Spagna. It is dominated by the majestic Spanish Steps built in the 18th century.
