In the photo above is Taxco an old silver-mining town about one hundred miles southwest of Mexico City. We visited it on a day-trip from Cuernavaca. It is a gorgeous colonial antique and one of the most picturesque and pleasant places in Mexico. In the photo below Betty is standing at the entrance to the Centro Mexicano International language school in the city of Morelia. We studied Spanish here for two weeks in this beautiful city located about two hundred miles west of Mexico City. It is the capital of the state Michoacán and is a lively city with an active cultural scene.
