The above photo is a copper workshop in the town of Santa Clara del Cobre. The town is located about one and half hours by bus from Morelia and was a copper-mining center for many years. Now there are many workshops making copper articles by hand. We also visited the town of Pátzcuaro which is famous for its Day of the Dead celebrations on November first and second. In the photo below Betty is standing near the Cathedral in the city of Guadalajara, Mexico's second largest city. Guadalajara is the home of Mariachi music, tequila, sombreros and the Mexican Hat Dance among other things Mexican. It has fine museums, beautiful historic buildings, nightlife, and culture all without the problems of Mexico City. It is also a modern and orderly city without pollution.
