Perhaps one of the most spectacular flights we ever experienced was from Queenstown over the Southern Alps and the fiord country to Milford Sound. The little planes fly so close to the mountains that they sometimes scratch the snow with their wingtips! And landing at Milford sound is another breathtaking experience as you can see from the photo below.
