In the photo above is the Monastery of Jerónimos (Mosteiro dos Jerónimos) began in 1502 in memory of Vasco da Gama's discovery of a sea route to India. Inside is a vault containing the remains of Vasco da Gama. In the photo below is the Ponte 25 de Abril, Europe's longest suspension bridge. Lisbon is connected south across the Tejo River to the Costa da Caparica and Setúbal Peninsula by this 70 meter high bridge which looks like the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. It also carries trains in the lower level.
