Royal Palace

In June 2001 we visited Spain again following our Central European tour. Our primary reason was to visit our friend Marielos of Costa Rica who is now studying for her Doctorate Degree in the historic city of Cáceres, located about 3 1/2 hours by train southwest of Madrid. During our two day visit in Madrid we saw the Royal Palace in the photo above. We also revisited the Prado Museum and in particular the paintings of Goya, one of which is in the photo below. The more famous one is the Naked Maja, but for this G rated website we chose the clothed Maja! We also visited for the first time the fabulous Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza.
