In the photo above is the Royal Palace in Madrid. In the photo below is the Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial about 25 miles from Madrid. This architectural marvel was built on orders of Philip II to commemorate the Spanish victory in the Battle of San Quiniín and was completed in 1584.
